He is survived by: his wife Sybil Yelverton Lewis; his children, Dan Lewis (Sue) and Hilda Barnes (Tim); and his grandchildren, Kellee Lewis Smith (Matt), Jo Barnes Holzman (Terry), Jill Barnes Hill (John), Gent Sherman Lewis (Heather), Joy Barnes Willis (Greg), Lemuel Cole Barnes (Paige), Reginald Robin "Chip" Lewis, Jr. (Michelle), Peggie Alexandria Lewis and Nancy Danielle Lewis.
