She was predeceased by: her parents, Purgie Beavers and Dorothy Moffett Beavers; her husband James R. Harper; her siblings, Marie Ross, Mary Beavers McNair, Jimmy Bevers and Bearlin Beavers; and her sons, Jeffrey Harper and Terry Musgrove.
She is survived by: her children, Gregory Harper, Carl Musgrove, Derrick Musgrove (Vallita Lewis), Jerry Harper (Vanessa) and Gwendolyn Diane Sanders; her sister Josie Hart; her godsons, Wilbert Harvey and Paul "Pope" Smith; and her grandson Christopher Walker. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
