He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Ervin and Eva Lorine Ervin; and his siblings, Richard Ervin Jr., Mildred Sims and Joe Ervin.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Burdine of Bay Springs, MS; his daughter Stacy Ervin Smith; his stepdaughter Shannon Wade (Lane); his grandchildren, Whitley Moss (Zach), Ashtyn Smith and Kaitlin Wade; his sister Mary Gregory of Bay Springs, MS; his nephews, Dean Sims (Karen), Kenneth Sims (Candy) and Anthony Ervin (Valory); and his niece Kathy Robertson (Steve).
