He is survived by: his wife Natalie Polson Shields of Batesville, MS; his sons, Jhonthan Shields of Courtland, MS, Hunter Shields of Vance, MS and Anthony Shields of Twin Falls, ID.; his siblings, Michelle Shields of Sardis, MS, Kathy Shields Melton of Batesville, MS, Joyce Shields Brown of Sardis, MS, Terry Shields of Courtland, MS and Dennis Grant of Crowder, MS.; and his grandchildren, Landin Shields, Hannah Shields, Bentley Shields, Hudson Shields, Phoenix Scruggs, Gabriel Scruggs and Seth Scruggs.

A burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Cold Springs Cemetery (2814 Cold Springs Rd, Batesville, MS 38606).
