With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Franklin Matthews Jr. of Batesville, Mississippi, born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, who passed away on December 9, 2024 at the age of 45. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandparents, James Matthews, Oren Walters, Imogene Walters, Jud and Marie Pittman; his aunt Karen Pittman; his cousin Crystal Aldridge Hankins; his daughter Harleigh; his parents, Shirley Pittman and Frankie Matthews (Joann); his brothers, Trent and Bryce; and his grandmother Sarah Matthews Castlebury.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Meredith-Nowell Funeral Home (314 E 2nd St, Clarksdale, MS 38614). A graveside service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Oakridge Cemetery. A memorial service was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 at the same location.
