He was predeceased by: his parents, John Cathey and Mildred Wilson Cathey; and his siblings, Elnora Burnett, Leslie Marion, Ernestine Adams and John Cathey, Jr..
He is survived by: his daughters, Shelia Malone (Eric) of Memphis, TN and Tanga Allen-Sanders of Memphis, TN; his sister Louise Cathey of Memphis, TN; and also Sam Hentz of Batesville, MS. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
