He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Carroll Overton and Marcelle Nixon Overton Pitts. He is survived by: his wife Dottie Dilmore Overton of Batesville; his children, Mona Overton Couey (Chris) of Jackson and Charles David "C. D."; his sister Terry Glascock Taylor of Chattanooga, TN; and his grandchildren, Camille Couey of Jackson, Ava Couey of Jackson and Graham Overton of Batesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his memory to the Batesville First United Methodist Church, 119 Panola Ave. Batesville, MS 38606 or Methodist Children's Homes.
