She was predeceased by: her husband Harvey Arnold Carpenter; her brothers, Bruce, Bob, Jack, Junior and Harry; her son-in-law Phil Otey Sherman, Jr.; and her grandson Phillip Harvey Sherman.
She is survived by: her daughters, Jill Carpenter Sherman, Jann Carpenter Henley (Tucker) and Terri Carpenter Broome (Erik); her grandchildren, Sara Sherman Pollan (Garrett), Daingerfield Tucker Henley (Ginnie), Granville Carpenter Sherman (Amy), Abigail Broome Robbins (Nathan), Ida Carpenter Henley and Sadie Broome Stone (Lowell); and her great grandchildren, Benton, Edi Rose Blaylock, George, Beatrice Sherman, Gram, Magnolia Stone and Charlie Robbins.
