With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Iris Payton of Bassfield, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 12, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Iris shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Iris farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her father Evan Harper. She is survived by: her mother Joyce Harper of Bassfield, MS; her children, Albert Blake of Hampton, VA and Olivia Blake of Gulfport, MS; and her siblings, Ricky Harper of Oakvale, MS, Roland Harper of Bassfield, MS, Ernest Harper of Raleigh, NC, William Harper of Spencer, OK, Gayle Nelson of Jackson, MS and Laronda Harper of Bassfield, MS.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM and on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Johnson Funeral Home (1112 Fred St, Prentiss, MS 39474). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the St. Paul Baptist Church (19 Barnes Ave, Bassfield, MS 39421).
