She was predeceased by: her father Fred Courtney, Sr.; and her sister Kathy Courtney Kemp. She is survived by: her mother Tressie Sims Courtney of Bassfield; her husband Sam S. Hathorn of Bassfield; her stepchildren, Mark Hathorn (Kim) of Baton Rouge, LA and Mechelle Dockall (Bruce) of Houston, TX; and her brothers, Fred Courtney, Jr. of Bassfield and John Courtney of Bassfield. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in memory of Gail Hathorn to Bunker Hill Baptist Church at 63 Bunker Hill Road, Columbia, MS 39429.
