He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Whitehead and Alva Whitehead; his sister Betty Fuller; his son Bobby Whitehead, Jr.; and his wife Linda Ann McDermit Whitehead.

He is survived by: his sons, Ronald James Whitehead of Columbia, MS, Gary Clayton Whitehead (Catherine) of Sun, LA and Timothy Mark Whitehead (Becky) of Bassfield, MS; and his siblings, Marilyn Buckley, Janice Lee, Billy Whitehead, Charles Whitehead, Marshall Whitehead, Tommy Whitehead, Donald Whitehead and Johnny Whitehead. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
