She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther E. Rice and Lucile Stephens Rice; her husband Thomas Lamar Messer; and her siblings, Billy Rice and Laverne Rice.
She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, William Larry Rice (Judy) of Savannah, TN and Billie Jean Stewart (Otis) of Tupelo, MS. She is also survived by one great-niece; one great-nephew; four great-great-nephews; host of family and friends.
