It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lula Berry Mayes of Baldwyn, Mississippi, born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, who passed away on June 9, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Berry and Annie Mae Satterwhite Berry; her children, Paul Shannon and Linda Shannon; and her siblings, Martha DePriest, Addie B. Stewart, Quitman Berry and Clifford Berry.
She is survived by: her husband Alvin Mayes; her children, Vanessa Williams, Carolyn Ashford (Chip), Josephine Shannon, Rev Larry Shannon (Dorothy), David Shannon and Michael Berry (Lyvonne); and her siblings, Diane Partlow, Regina Paden (Kelsey), Charles Berry (Marilyn), Melvin Pickens and Raymond Fells (Barbara). She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
