He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace Patrick Bergin and Evelyn Cook Surginer; his stepfather George "Pop" S. Surginer; and his brother Dan Bergin. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Bergin; his children, Stephen Bergin (Erin) and Katie Bergin; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Charan, Samuel and Abigail; his sister Dory Nelson; his aunt Jewel Pittman of Zachary, LA; his nieces, Candace Everse (Nick) and Kelley Morlan (Bruce) of Las Vegas, NV; and his close friends, Jerry Stennett, Elaine Cunningham, Douglas Davis and Dewayne Davis. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family request memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association.
