He was predeceased by: his parents, Marlin B. Whitehead and Minnie Burnett Whitehead; his wife Madine Brooks Whitehead; his daughters, Teresa Barnes and Tracey Williams; and his siblings, Willie Whitehead, Carlos Whitehead, Dude Whitehead and Gracie Hurt.
He is survived by: his children, Eddie L. Whitehead of Ashland, MS, Dianne Hopkins (Danny) of Michigan City, MS and Gail Vance (David) of Myrtle, MS; his grandchildren, Chad Hopkins, Jessica Gordon, Amanda Harp, Christopher Williams, Jessica Nolley, Tiffany Lewis, Jesse Williams, Haley Barnes, Gary Barnes, Jr. and Brittney Whitehead; and his sons-in-law, Gary Barnes of Jackson, TN and W. J. Williams of Ashland, MS. He is also survived by Nine Great Grandchildren.
