He was predeceased by: his son Randy Dale Sloan; his brother Lynn Sloan; his stepfather Jack Palmer; his mother-in-law Kathy Reich; his siblings-in-law, Kay Whitaker and Mitchell Whitaker; and his daughter-in-law Debbie Sloan.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Jo Sloan; his daughter Amber Fowler (Brandon); his grandchildren, Jordan Sloan and Alison Poppell; his brothers, Paul Sloan, Bobby Sloan (Francis) and Terry Sloan (Frankie); and his siblings-in-law, Marsha Whitaker (Shannon), Tommy Whitaker (Judy) and Michael Whitaker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
