He was predeceased by: his parents, Glados Sims and Naomi Hensley Sims; his wife Mary; and his siblings, Grady Leon Sims, Al Sims and Mary Ellen Cagle.
He is survived by: his daughter Beverly Baughman (Mike) of Amory; his stepchildren, Gary McMakin of Jackson, TN and Donna McDonald (Kelly) of Tampa; his brother Larry Sims (Tessie) of Smithville; his grandchildren, Chris Baughman (Whitney) of Oxford, Bret Baughman (Patty) of Saltillo and Jon David Poss (Anna) of Oxford; his nephew Dusty Sims; and his close friends, Pete Jenkins, Terry Odom and Benny Barnes. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
