He was predeceased by: his daughter Cindy; his parents, John Milledge Maples Jr. and Emma Louise "Poochie" Koonce; his stepfather Bill Koonce; and his children, Jorge and Nichole.
He is survived by: his wife Valerie; and his brothers, Randy (Vicki) and Greg. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
