She was predeceased by: her parents, Dee Vandiver and Ruby Wright Vandiver; and her sister Jimmie Nell Pearce. She is survived by: her husband Herman Mitchell; her son David Mitchell; and her siblings, Judy Kyle (Leonard), Mary Ann Staten, Donald Ray Vandiver (Fran) and Doyle Vandiver (Linda). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
