He was predeceased by: his father Robert Lee Pope; his sister Phyllis Denson; his nephew Jeremy Denson; and his brother-in-law James Ellis Mason. He is survived by: his wife Twyla Pope of Ackerman, MS; his mother Iola Pope; his children, Cheyenne Pope Boone (Jason) of Lena, MS and James Lee Pope of Columbus, MS; his siblings, GiGi Pope of Lena, MS and Chris Pope of Lena, MS; his grandchildren, Aubrie Jayde Smith, Charlee Elizabeth Smith, Alyse Danielle Boone and Gabriel Boone; and his great grandchildren, Jaxyn Boone and Kysen Boone.

Visitation was held on Sunday, July 14th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 2:15 PM at the Wolf Funeral Services - Morton (3054 US-80, Morton, MS 39117). A memorial service was held on Sunday, July 14th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
