He was predeceased by: his parents, James B. Thompson and Vevie Mae Edwards Thompson; his daughter Connie Jean Thompson Dempsey; and his siblings, James Edward, Mary, Glenda Faye, Charlsie and Marilyn.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Beverly Thompson of Ackerman; his daughter Beverly Thompson Rowan of Starkville; and his grandchildren, Sonya Anderson (Ashley) of West Point and Tyiece Woodward (Steven) of Oklahoma.
