With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Austin Pounders (Aberdeen, Mississippi), born in Sulligent, Alabama, who passed away on March 19, 2019 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Morgan Pounders and Della Smith Pounders; his siblings, Allene Head, Willene Gilliland, Enzian Ellis, Samuel Pounders and Kenneth Pounders; and his children, Nolia Jean and Charles Paul.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Pounders of Aberdeen, MS; his daughters, Debbie, Suzie, Sandra and Pam; his stepdaughters, Sherri and Karen; and his siblings, Garah Redditt, Linda Barham (Duke) of Oklahoma and Dea Pounders (Doris) of Aberdeen, MS. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Aberdeen First Presbyterian Church 401 West Commerce St. Aberdeen, MS 39730 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital P.O. Box 50 Memphis, TN 38101.
