He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobart Ball and Minnie Ball; his daughter Julia Howell; and his siblings, Sparrow, Hobart Jr., Julius, Edward, Marie, Debra Ball, Dorothy O'Day and Julia Overton.

He is survived by: his children, Wyvonnia Carter (Timothy) and Homer Ball, Jr.; his grandchildren, Tina Jackson, Michelle Swanston (Andre), Kevin Carter (Daysha) and Jessica Hicks (John); his great grandchild Sabrina Byrd; and his grandchildren, Mikayla, Adrian Swanston, Torrance Joseph Carter, Jayden and Janoah Hicks. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
