She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Vorce and Pearl; her husband Ted Barkey; and her siblings, Raymond Vorce, Robert Griggs, Gwen Tieman and Patricia Griggs.
She is survived by: her children, Nina Spinali of Washington, Kathy Barkey of St. Louis City, Barbara Horter of Union, Chris Barkey (Marty Signaigo) of Labadie, Mike Barkey (Sharon) of Sullivan and Mark Barkey (Tammy) of Tuscaloosa, AL.; her grandchildren, Anthony Spinali (Jill), Nathan Horter (Sarah), Matthew Horter, Julie Garland (Dennis), Becky Foth, Lauren Barkey, Anna Barkey and Colleen Barkey; her great grandchildren, Gianna Spinali, Leo Spinali, Eli Spinali, Finn Horter, Kellan Horter, Andrea Nelson and Justin Garland; and her siblings, Arlene Weiss of St. Louis City and Thomas Griggs (Marian). She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
Memorials in honor of Virginia Barkey can be given to the donor's charity of choice.
