He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sherrill and Iris Ruth Sherrill (Abel); and his brothers, Harlan, Harold and Wayne Sherrill.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Jane Foose; his grandchildren, Jaina, Laira, Jake Wheatley, Adison and Shay Sherrill; his great grandchild Braydon Wheatley; and his sister-in-law Ellen Sherrill. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
