He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewell Levi Claycomb and Doris Claycomb (Knoles); his wife Myrtle Ruth Ransdell; his siblings, Jewell Levi Claycomb Jr., Donald Claycomb, Larry Claycomb and Jean Durrill; and his nephew David Baker.
He is survived by: his close friend Scottie; and his sister Carolyn Baker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established for funeral expenses and contributions may be left in care of the funeral home.
