It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Ekstrand of Windsor, Missouri, who passed away on December 30, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Dale Ekstrand and Thelma Irene Ekstrand (Kindle); his son-in-law Hershel Fornshell; and his siblings, Robert "Bob" Ekstrand, Walter "Tracy" Ekstrand and Donna Vincent.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Sue Hood; his daughters, Teleina Fornshell of Windsor, Regina Hix (Darrin) of Windsor and Velina Todd (Tommy) of Windsor; his grandchildren, Feleina Vansel (Joe), Felicia Melton (TJ), Jacob Hix, Jarrod Hix (Makenna), Lauren Collins (Chris), Aaron Garoutte (Natasha), Megan Privett (Steven) and Ciara Todd; his great grandchildren, Tre Melton, Kennedy Collins, Truman Collins, Lindyn Garoutte, Rosalina Privett, Lena and Lexi; his sisters, Anna Martin (Butch) and Carolyn Pearson (Steve); and his sister-in-law Beverly Ekstrand. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Masks and social distancing are recommended for the visitation and the service.
