He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dale Couts Sr. and Elyta Irene Couts (Wheeler); and his siblings, John Couts II and Judy Slaten. He is survived by: his wife Mary Louise Bentch; his granddaughters, Sarah Couts Foster (Tony) and Brittany Couts; his great grandchildren, Harper Couts, Scout Foster, Kimber Couts, Sloane Foster and Stone Foster; his great-niece Mechelle Moreland; his friend Sandy Leonard; and also, Alexus, Chase and Autumn Sell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
