He was predeceased by: his parents, Hazel Verne Smith (Miner) and Millard Howard Smith; his siblings, Joy Sharp, Howard Smith and Carol Kay Murrow; and his significant other Sandra Archer.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sarah Nessel and Julie Smith; and his former wife Lorene Smith. He is also survived by several nephews and a niece.
