He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Abney and Irma Abney; his wife Margaret Abney; and his daughter Mitzi Abney. He is survived by: his daughter Melody (Ron Huffman); his brother William "Bill" Abney; his grandson Briton Freitas; his great grandchild Brianna Freitas; and his stepgrandson Adam Huffman. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
