She was predeceased by: her parents, David DeForest Dunlap, Sr. and Iva Melba Dunlap (Hawley); her husband Jimmy E. Carter; her former husband Lloyd L. Michael; her son Darrell Gene Carter; her brothers, David DeForest Dunlap, Jr. and William C. Dunlap; and her son-in-law Steve Wheeler.
She is survived by: her daughter Norma Karen Wheeler of Weston; her grandsons, James Daniel and Michael J. Wheeler of Weston; and her great grandchildren, Currie, Steven Wheeler of St. Joseph, MO, Cinnamon Dawn Cash of Atchison, KS and Carter Jackson Wheeler of Weston. She is also survived by 6 great, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be given to Melba's family.
