He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph "Patrick" Rooney and Iris Rooney (Zager); and his nephew James Patrick Trokey. He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Johnson; his sons, Michael (Aaron) and Christopher (Chris); and his siblings, Robert Rooney (Mary Ann), Mary Rooney, Loretta Rooney, Kathy Rooney-Hokeson (Kevin), Barbara Karis (Dan) and Eric Johnson (Patricia).
