With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Valerie Jane Nelson of West Plains, Missouri, who passed away on August 22, 2024 at the age of 82. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Geltz and Paulina Anna D'Amour Geltz; and her brother Daryl Andre Russell. She is survived by: her daughters, Laura Hurt (Bob) of West Plains and Christina Howell (Robert) of West Plains; her grandchildren, Allison Ruengert, Chris Ruengert (Leslee), Luke Freeman, Harlie Howell, Makala Howell, Bobbie Jo Howell, Audrey Howell and Emily Howell; and her great grandchildren, Madelyn, Adam, Sophia, Madison, Daylen, Bailey, Serenity, Nevaeh and Colton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Howell County.
