He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James William "Bill" Marshall and Minnie Idella Callahan Marshall; his wife Pauline Marshall; his children, Rebecca El Ramly (Hani), Bill Marshall and Matthew Marshall (Lisa); his sister Betty Sparks; his son Bryant Marshall; and his siblings, Paul, William Jr., Marie, Mary Sue, Orene and Edna. He was also cherished by twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
