He is survived by: his wife Wilma Nichols; his children, Rhonda Richter, Mark Nichols (Kristy) of West Plains and Janet Godon (Ken) of Columbia, Missouri; his grandchildren, Philipp Richter (Erica), Kelly Pompei (Kyle), Alexandra Richter, Ransom, Justin Nichols, Lauren and Lucas Godon; his great grandchildren, Nolan Richter and Landon Pompei; and his brother Charles Nichols. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
