He was predeceased by: his parents, Luther James Whiteside and Anna Elizabeth Presley; his wife Frances Marie Junkins; his daughter Bonnie Stovall; and his brother Roy James Whiteside.
He is survived by: his sons, Richard Whiteside and Kyle Whiteside (Rebecca); and his siblings, Gary Neal Whiteside and Mary Alice Langle. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
