He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Isabel Whitman; his parents, Scott Russell and Dorothy Whitman; his daughter Lee C. Kirn; and his brother Harry Whitman.
He is survived by: his children, Ann Meuth (Joseph) and Ty R. Whitman (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Crystal Lindsey (Brad), Jacob Meuth (Emily), Scott Whitman (Becky), Nancy Messina (Alex) and Sara Treat (Zachery); his great grandchildren, Dakota, Carley, Savannah, Nora, Grant, Caleb, Winry, Warren, Hailey and Jonah; his sister Nancy Santheson; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Whitman and Dorothy Zerjav. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be made in Robert's name to United Way.
