He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Wies and Helen Wies; and his siblings, Delores Merz, Ruth Ellen Boehle, Mary Ann Conoyer, Betty Suellentrop, Marge Collins, Ginny Behlmann and Gerald "Sonny" Wies.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Wies of Troy, Missouri; his children, Keith Wies (Sheri) and Michelle Wies; his grandchildren, Michael, Christian, Quentin, Alexander and Nicholas; and his siblings, Kenneth Wies (Loraine), Geri Sachs (Bob) and Terry Smith (Charles).
