He was predeceased by: his parents, John H. Hakenewerth and Lucy Hakenewerth; his siblings, Bernadine Feldewerth, Lorraine Salfen, Adelaide Rhodes, Kenneth Hakenewerth, Edgar Hakenewerth, Marie Meyer, Urban Hakenewerth and John Hakenewerth; and his granddaughter Tricia Juergensmeyer.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Hakenewerth of Flint Hill, Missouri.; his children, Joyce Juergensmeyer (Walter "Sonny") of Troy, MO, Mark Hakenewerth (Julie) of Flint Hill, MO, Carol Hoff (David), David Hakenewerth (Sharyl) of Flint Hill, MO and Donald Hakenewerth (Sally) of Flint Hill, MO; and his sisters-in-law, Catherine Hakenwerth, Janice Amptmann and Alice Mae Roettger. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
