He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Thomas Ellis, Sr. and Doris Ann Ellis. He is survived by: his wife Georgia Ellis of Wentzville; his son Christopher Ellis (Renee) of Wentzville, MO; his siblings, Don Ellis (Carolyn) of St. Louis, MO and Jeanne Brickson (Gary) of St. Louis, MO; his grandchildren, Adam Ellis (Kellee), Jonathan Ellis (Tiffany), Tyler Morice (Nicole), Alexxis Morice (Aaron Sutton) and Zoe Ellis; and his great grandchildren, Amiya, Raelynn, Harper, Colton, Nolan, Kenley and Clayton.
