He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Young and Ruth Young; his son Stephen Young; and his brother Richard. He is survived by: his spouse Gerry Sue; his daughters, Karen Honeycutt (Tim) and Johanna Young; his grandchildren, AJ Hill, Sami Young, Brian Young, Kimi Honeycutt, Tyler Honeycutt and Sean Young; his great grandchildren, Damian Honeycutt and Aya Teegarden; his sister Mary Richards; and his brother-in-law Ron Trantham (Diane).

Visitation was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Baue Funeral Home - Cave Springs (3950 W Clay St, St Charles, MO 63301). A memorial service was held on Friday, November 8th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the same location.

Memorials may be made in Gerald's name to American Cancer Society.
