Yates; his parents, Ray Yates and Willa Kester; his children, Karen Niblett (Ernie) and Susan Repovich (late Larry); his grandchildren, Matthew and Alyssa; his siblings, Wilma Gaines, Jim Yates, Dolores Price and Ida Kellogg (Ken); and his siblings-in-law, Alta Albicht and Norma O'Donnell. He was also cherished by nieces, nephews, and many friends.
