He was predeceased by: his parents, Tony "Tinse" Wilmes and Anna Wilmes (Hakenewerth); his wife Jean Wilmes (Prinster); his siblings, Elmer Wilmes, Clarence Wilmes, Irene Eisenbath (Wilmes), Edna Roettger (Wilmes), Edgar "Ted" Wilmes, Mary Burkemper (Wilmes) and Anthony "Pin" Wilmes; his great grandchild Lucas Koch; and his daughter-in-law Janice Wilmes.
He is survived by: his children, Bill Wilmes of Flint Hill, MO, Mike Wilmes (Donna) of Flint Hill, MO, Dick Wilmes of Flint Hill, MO, Pat Koch (Ronald "Casey") of Moscow Mills, MO, Rita Wortmann (Steve) of Flint Hill, MO, Tim Wilmes (Carol) of St. Paul, MO and Ted Wilmes (Marilyn) of Flint Hill, MO; his grandchildren, Gary Wilmes, Rachel Johnson (Wilmes), Krissy Wilmes, Kenny Wilmes, Joe Wilmes, Steven Wilmes, Sheri Loftsgard (Koch), Doug Koch, Dana Wernimont (Koch), Katy Wortmann, Kevin Wortmann, Kyle Wortmann, Michael Wortmann, Maury Wilmes, Andy Wilmes, Spencer Wilmes, Jessie Hansen (Wilmes), Jake Wilmes, Jenna Wilmes and Jamie Wilmes; and his siblings, Urban "Urbie" Wilmes and Margie Tochtrop (Wilmes). He is also survived by 33 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Pitman Funeral Home (1545 Wentzville Pkwy, Wentzville, MO 63385). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Theodore Catholic Church (5059 Hwy P, Flint Hill, MO 63385). A burial was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at the St. Theodore Catholic Church Cemetery (5059 Hwy P, Flint Hill, MO 63385).
