It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Garry Dean Hughes of Wellington, Missouri, born in Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on December 6, 2021, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Hughes and Evelyn Hughes (Fortner); his wife Pamela Hughes (Schwindt); his daughter Christina Hughes; his grandson Cody A. Schwermer; his siblings, Virginia Sieleman and Michael Hughes; and his niece Raven Vail.

He is survived by: his daughters, Melanie Bland (Joshua) of Lee's Summit, Patricia Bredemeier (Joey) of Kansas City, Sarah Schwermer (Zackery) of Lenexa, Elisabeth Gates (Stuart) of Napoleon and Susan Johnson (Brian) of Lee's Summit; his grandchildren, Arthur Helm, Aubrey Helm, Erick Schwermer, Schyler Gates and Lillie Gates; and his sister Deborah Hays of Kansas City, Missouri. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
