Frances LaVern Shurmantine Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Frances LaVern Shurmantine of Wellington, Missouri, who passed away on January 5, 2025 at the age of 99. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Theodore Love and Mary Love (Reed); her husband John "J. D." Shurmantine; her son James Surmantine; her granddaughter Jennifer Shurmantine; and her sisters, Ethel Pearl Westerburg, Ruby McNeely, Norine Simmerman and Louise Barker.
She is survived by: her children, John Shurmantine (Brenda) of Wellington, Mary Lou Waller (Kevin) of Wellington, Norma Nordsieck of Wellington, Barbara Stark of Oak Grove, Robert "Bob" Shurmantine (Theresa) of Wellington and Donald Shurmantine (Geli) of Wellington. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home (306 S 2nd St, Odessa, MO 64076).
Memorials are suggested to Traditions Hospice.
