She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Nicolas and Alicia Nicolas (Clark). She is survived by: her husband David Ackiss of Webb City; her daughter Claire Ackiss (Matt Sluder) of St. Louis; her brothers, Chris Nicolas (Dot) of Joplin, Philip Nicolas of Frontenac, KS and John Nicolas of Liberal, MO; and her close friend Jennifer Thater (Walker) of Joplin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lafayette House of Joplin and may be entrusted to the mortuary.
