He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Benjamin Schmidt and Laura K. Buhlig Schmidt; and his siblings, Herbert William Schmidt and Audrey Lou Kesemann. He is survived by: his wife Lolly; his children, Wendell R. "Rick" Schmidt (Connie) of Waverly, Mark Schmidt (Diane) of Waverly and Stacie Lee Woods (Rusty) of Blue Springs; and his siblings, Roger Schmidt (Donna) of Blue Springs and Joan Waddell of Lincoln, NE. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.
