He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Mays and Pauline Brookhart; and his brother Frank Mays II. He is survived by: his son Daniel Mays of Austin, Texas; his siblings, Polly Stahlhuth (Roger) of Webster Groves and Laurell Ostermeier (Thomas) of Webster Groves; and his sister-in-law Helen Mays of Arizona. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.

Memorial donations can be made to the Shriner Hospital for Children.
