With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Virgil Anthony Schmitt of Washington, Missouri, who passed away on May 17, 2022 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Emil Schmitt (Anna); his wife Arlean Schmitt; his mother Anna Schmitt; his parents-in-law, Edward and Ella Weber; his siblings, Victor Schmitt, Richard Schmitt, Kenneth Schmitt, Mildred Schmitt, Alice Elbert and Irene Biermann; and his siblings-in-law, Leonard Weber, Don Voss, Bud Elbert, Albert Biermann, Mary Jane Huxel, Esther Schmitt and Ethel "Noots" Schmitt.
He is survived by: his children, Alan Schmitt (Dena) of Washington, Larry Schmitt (Donna) of Washington and Kathy Luttrell of Washington; his grandchildren, Kelly Sheets (Anthony) of Wentzville, Kevin Luttrell (Rosemary) of Union, Adam Schmitt (Amber) of Washington and Zach Schmitt (Abigail); his great grandchildren, Jack, Riley, Madelyn Sheets, Campbell and Leona Luttrell; and his siblings-in-law, Bob Weber (Jan), Melvin Weber (Doris), Richard Weber (Sandy), Bob Huxel, Tudy Schmitt, Bernice Voss and Loretta Weber. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Franklin County BackStoppers or Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
