He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Beste and Meredith; his parents-in-law, Charles and Vera Kamper; and his nephew Nathan Spaunhorst.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Kamper Beste of Krakow; his sister Joleen Spaunhorst (Michael) of Krakow; his brother-in-law Robert Kamper (Brenda) of Krakow; his nieces and nephews, Matthew Spaunhorst (Elizabeth), Laurie Buhr (Derek), David Spaunhorst, Ashley Kamper (Jay Ribbings) and Lindsey Kamper; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Dawson, Eli, Josephine Spaunhorst, Jada, Meghan O'Donnell, Henry, Charlotte Buhr, James, Jace, Jaydyn, Jaxtyn Ribbing, Elizabeth and Leah Kamper.
